I remember like it was yesterday: a rectangle hitting a square towards another rectangle - I used to play Pong on Atari 2600 for hours on end. Then came the Commodore 64 with the amazing 300-baud modem which transported me into Quantum-Link and allowed me to connect with others 10 years before the Internet got started.
Recently though, I finally stepped into a 3D virtual world and I was amazed. I couldn't get enough of it. I tried out 3 so far: Kaneva, Active Worlds, and 2ndLife.
I don't think my initial excitement will wear off anytime soon. I plan on building inside these virtual worlds and creating communities of like-minded people.
